Does the 12 cell battery take twice as long to charge as the 6 cell? If the cells are in parallel, I'd think it should take the same amount of time.. If it is the same amount of time, then I'm interested in getting the 12 cell.. If it takes twice as long, then forget it!! I think the 6 cell takes too long to charge as it is![]()

I don't have a 6cell, so I can't compare. However, the 12 cell does take a good amount of time to get charged. That being said, I've also noticed I have a lot more time of portable use between charges.

Methinks it will take longer to charge the 12 cell battery. The A/C charger is rated for so many amps, therefore it'll require more amp-hours to charge a larger battery. Does HP offer a way to charge a battery outside of the laptop?

Even if we replace AC charger with high capacity, the charging circuit in the laptops do have current limit.
BTW, slow charging is always better for better battery life time, and also slower charging can charge to full capacity of battery, giving more duration for each charge. Thisway you get benifitted with 12-cell. That may be one of the reason why typically a 12-cell battery lasts longer than 6-cell. -
It does longer, but not nearly twice as long. But hey, I'm not complaining about the 6hrs battery life the 12 cell gives me, saves me from being like a retard running around school looking for an unused wall outlet. (which are usually used by other laptop users lol)
