I am considering buying the high resolution version of this machine and have a few questions:
1. How is the heat on this machine? Does it get hot after extended use? I need something that will still be comfortable in my lap after long use.
2. How noisy is it? I want a very silent machine.
3. How long does the battery really last? I've heard claims between 5 hours and 8 hours on the six cell.
4. How annoying is it that the six cell battery sticks out as much as it does?
5. Does the reflective glossy screen make it very difficult to use outside for word processing?
6. How fast does it boot? How quick is it going into stand by and waking up from standby?
7. For those with the high resolution display, is it that much better than a standard display?
Overall, do you recommend this laptop?
Thanks!

1) Didn't get hot. IMO, It's a bit light and the screen is a bit low to be on your lap and type on it.
2) It's pretty silent, in my normal use, I didn't hear anything from it.
3) Dunno.
4) I must not have had the 6-cell battery..
5) I didn't try.
6) Not very fast boot up or hibernate (XP), standby is fast-ish.
7) Didn't have it.
Not sure if I would recommend it. If you're going to bring the computer around and browse the net and type up stuff, sure, as long as you get the higher resolution (I haven't seen it, but had the one with the 1024x576 screen for a while, ridiculously low resolution). <- Statement probably applies to all netbooks with a screen resolution higher than 1024x576.
