What is the lowest VID/voltage in your CPU (U7500/U7600/U7700)?
I'm trying to find a low voltage CPU for my notebook and want to know if this CPU has the lowest VID. There's no trusting in Wikipedia etc., since the voltages vary and they are often reported wrong.
Thanks.

I'm no expert, but 0.80V?

RMclock and cpu-z reports it to be 0.85V on my U7600 2510P. Tried to unlock the VIDs using RMclock to go lower but to no avail. Extra headroom can be put to good use with overclock. Eg: stable 1.5Ghz overclock with default bootup voltages and CAS=5 ram timing (written to SPD eeprom).

I was hoping it to be 0.75V. I already have a L7700 1.8GHz LV CPU with lowest VID 0.85V. Maybe ULV CPU's run cooler with same voltage though.
Does anyone have lower VID than 0.85V in their 2510p CPU? -

L7700 is a 200Mhz FSB processor, so supports superLFM mode that halves the FSB. If locked to SuperLFM mode with highest stable FID at 0.85V with RMClock, it would consumer very little power.
Can compare against my U7600 2510P. It can get as low as 6W with wifi on, brightness all the way down, and HDD in idle-standby mode when measured with battstat.
I think quite a few 2510P owners would gladly swap a U7x00 for a higher performing L7700 systemboard. Consider the performance difference. -
I want a CPU with 0.75V VID to make my notebook run silent without fan. 0.85V is close but not low enough, 0.75V would make it. The performance loss is surely a con, but at least I can try to overclock it as you hinted.
Does other 2510p owners have 0.85V VID too as lowest VID? -

Whilst not answering your request for a 0.75V VID 2510P CPU, what I can suggest is:
- application of higher grade of thermal conductivity paste between CPU and heatsink to remove heat faster, eg: Artic Silver
- silence the fan by modification of the ACPI dsdt table. Modded table can be incorporated into Windows/Linux system. 2510P dsdt table is available here
Newer 45nm penryns in the SU9x00 2530P should run cooler, but that's a notebook upgrade. -
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't have HP notebook. I'm just asking at this forum because HP 2510p is probably the only notebook with U7700 (Socket P version). I'll give Arctic silver a try.
Can anyone else check CPU voltage at 2510p (because voltages vary)?
Thanks.
