    Hey everyone,

I was checking out the HP 2510p a few days ago, and it seems to be a really good ultraportable especially for the price.

It weights around 3.5 pounds with the 6 cell battery, has an LED backlit screen, DVD burner and 6+ battery life. This seems to be quite good for merely $1700 (even cheaper in US, I am from Canada).

How come this notebook is seldom mentioned?

Most likely uneducated buyers are turned off by at its "weak" cpu and slow HD .

Still I agree the basic model with XP is a great buy .

This seems to be the case, but it seems like the Sony TZ has similar specification, but it's about $1000 more costly. The only differences is that the TZ is 1 inch smaller, lighter etc.

I think if we were to look at both laptops side by side, we'd see that the HP 2510p is better (The TZ, for $1000 dollars, gets a smaller screen, lighter, and a sony brand?)

The 2510p also comes with a 3 year international warranty whereas the TZ comes with (I think a 1 year warranty).

    What does everyone else think?

NOTE: I don't think the base setup is worthwhile because of the 1gb ram. 2510p has 1 slot for ram unfortunately, so it's definitely worthwhile to get the 2GB upgrade when buying.

I think it's a great ultraportable. As usual, people are ignorant about models which are not marketed heavily.
The Lenovo X61 and Dell D430 gets more publicity and has a greater brand-loyal fanbase than HP products in general, hence the 2510p will always be overlooked and ignored despite being better than the D430 (has DVD drive, more optimised battery life, better LED screen).

Actually, I tried both the HP2510p and Dell LAtitude D430 ,I would say the HP was more stable, but the Dell was cheaper when ismilarly configured.

Also, the hp business6510b is a hidden bargain laptop, it is ver cheap even cheaper than similar pavillion DV2700t.

I recommend this to any one who does not play 3D games on his or her laptop ,or not interested in gaming or multimedia.
