    Couple of questions:

    1. Does the 9 cell PROTUDE out the back and is it thicker than the normal 6 cell?
Would love to see a photo comparing both if possible. Any links?

    2. Practically, in terms of percentage, how much more run time? 50%? 60%?

    3. How much more weight?

    Thanks!

    1. It protrudes out the back as far as the 6 cell does and it raises the back of the notebook about the same amount. I'll post pictures when I can.

    2. depending on usage, anywhere between 25% and 50% more battery life.

    3. It adds about half a pound over the 6 cell.

    PocketGeek (great name), THANKS.

You mean even the 6 cell PROTUDES out the back? I though they were flush against the back. When looking at the officlal width and length specifications, I assume that they include the 6 cell battery protusion in the dimensions?

The 6-cell battery does stick out from the back. The 9-cell sticks out from both the back AND the bottom.

HP also made (not sure if they still make it, though) a 3-cell battery that fits flush against the back of the notebook, though the battery life isn't as good (obviously).

6-cell is 55Whr, 9-cell is 83Whr, so 50% more battery life. If have a 6-cell already, could consider sourcing and repacking existing battery using the hi-po 18650 cells as used in Asus 1000HE/ Toshiba NB205 to get 15% more battery life without using any no more space (their 6-cell is 63Whr).
