I have the problem several models of HP laptops do in that when you first boot-up the screen flashes twice, no big deal really, and you can't get Vista SP1 because it doesn't support your video driver version, mine being the Intel driver version 7.14.10.1322. This is the latest version available from HP for my laptop that I can find.
I found this on HP support when searching for a solution for the Vista SP1 problem-

But when I tried to install the updated driver I got a message saying my laptop wasn't supported or something to that effect. Went back to the supported hardware page and indeed the HP 530 wasn't on the list.
Is there an updated driver available for the HP 530 video chip that anyone knows about?
Do I really need Vista SP1? I know when I got SP1 for XP it slowed my computer down to the point it was practically unusable and had to uninstall it.

Did you try downloading the driver directly from Intel ?
Personally I think you should have SP1, because it includes many security, reliability and compatibility updates. There are many in-depth reviews on the net; you’ll get a better answer from those.
I installed it but didn’t notice a slowdown nor an improvement (except for the file copying process, which is also available as a separate patch). -
Didn't find an updated driver at Intel.
Use device manager to find an updated driver online as well with no joy.
Looks like Vista SP1 is a no-go for me. Who's to blame for this, Intel, HP or MS?:confused2:
HP 530 video driver search help please.
