    Anyone know what brand 5400 hd is found in the dv4000 model?

    They probably use a few, I'd be surprised if they're single sourced.

    I don't thing brand matters on any of the laptop these days.
    I would get one that has a good ratings on, longest warranty, and brand I like/trust.
    I have 2 Seagate drives on my dv8000. It's quite and cool running and couldn't be happier with.

    My 5400 rpm on a DV1135ap is a Fijitu MHT2080AH PL 80 gig

    My 5400 RPM 80 GB in my v4000t was a Seagate Momentus ST98823A. Ordered the laptop direct from HPShopping a month ago.

    I ordered a DV1000 on Monday. Should be able to tell you in a couple of weeks if you still want to know by then.

    Brian, you're right. I had a seagate in my last computer, (returned) and now its a toshiba. Just curious what everyone else had :)
