A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the sound on my new HP6000, even at maximum, has become very very soft. I used to be able to listen to a recorded TV show with no problems but now it is very hard to hear.

Ive tried resetting the sound volume on the control panel but no luck.

    Any other suggestions?

Funny you should say that, as my dv6000z developed the same problem, but only in XP. I dual-boot, and the sound is pretty loud in Vista, but has gotten very soft in XP.
It's especially noticable when watching TV with my USB Tuner. I used to be able to hear everything just fine not too long ago, but now i have to plug in the earphones to hear anything. This is really weird.
