    Dear all,

since HP ships new notebooks in germany always a little later, i´m hoping to find someone here, who can say anything about the noiselevel of the HP 6440b with Core i5. This would be a big topic when i unbox the notebook and i don´t want to be disappointed.

If you have a HP 6440b with Core i5 can you please answer the following questions:

    - Is the fan hearable permanetly?
    - Will the speed of the fan often change its revs?
    - How noisy is the harddrive?

Sorry for my german english. So if you don´t understand the questions please write everything about the sounds coming from a HP 6440b with Core i5 except from the speakers :)

    Thanks a lot.

    Kind regards
    TgGabbo

    Hey,

    i found a review at a review-site from poland:
Thanks to googletranslation i was able to understand a little:

    Noise

While browsing the noise generated by fan blade oscillates around 34.5 dB. Should be seen as good results as the murmur of the rotor does not focus more attention on the user's typical work environment. Increase hard disk space is associated with increased noise level almost 35 dB.

In this mode the rotor balanced work becomes more niejednostajna. Periodically, he or she begins dynamism which manifests sudden noise surges.

CPU load results in immediate acceleration speed fan, which automatically translates into an increase in the intensity of noise, which after reaching the first phase exceeds 39 dB. Further warming up gradually increases the aggressiveness of the CPU cooling system, which produces the final stage which oscillates in the Tatra wizg 42.5 dB. It should be mentioned that contact with the notebook in such conditions is not a pleasant thing.

... and a few lines below in the summary

    Summary
Unfortunately, the efficiency of the cooling okupiono fairly average cultural work as the device, which are mainly in the load generates a lot of noise. Impractical using the optical drive is a detail, but the group of the most annoying.

So, that doesn´t sound very good. But i´m always a little carefull with those tests, becouse for an other notebook i found 2 reviews with a total oposite opinion about the noiselevel. So i still like to read, what you think.

    Kind regards
    TgGabbo
