Hi all, new here so be gentle!

I've got a HP 6910 and am having problems with it, It got stuck repeating a song on Windows Media Player and Ctrl Alt Del wouldn't do the trick, so i held the on/off key until it shut down. but now when it goes to boot up it comes up saying that windows couldn't start properly and i have a list of options.

safe mode, start windows normally, or go back to its last settings when it worked. But all don't work. When i select either of the last two (not safe mode) it goes to the windows load page with the coloured windows and a blue loading bar but then the screen flashes blue and it restarts. It does this everytime I try to turn it on. Please help guys and gals! thanks.

Is this on Vista or XP?

Either your boot manager is screwed or you have a hardware issue.

Have you tried unplugging all you USB and external stuff?

Hi, yeah all external and USB components are unplugged. It is running XP. I opened up the Bios and tried a HDD self check but it said "HDD read failure" when it tried to do it. HDD corrupt maybe??? thanks.
