When I adjust the sound with the taskbar icon I get a small stutter at the end of the volume tone. I noticed at half volume I hear static through the speakers. I noticed the static after updating the driver for the stutter problem. What else can I try?

I went back and completely un-installed the current driver. I then used Ccleaner after rebooting. I re-installed the latest driver and problem solved! Not sure why it was doing this right out of the box but issues fixed now.

Well I got another laptop to replace my last one that had issues. This one ended up having the same sound issue and I cant seem to fix it. Its a stutter when moving the volume bar on the task bar. I notice some static from the speaker also. I was able to fix this with my last laptop and this one was orginally fine half way through my install. I am pretty sure its was microsofts updates that screwed it up. Anyone else have this issue?

Well I figured out the problem. If you pull it out of power savings mode under the sound options the problem goes away. Its like the power savings mode is shutting off before the beep ends so it sounds like a stutter. Not sure how much more power it uses turned off.
