The rumour was July 2nd. Where did you get that July 5th date from?

on hp's website it says "ATI Mobility Radeon X2600 graphics provide DirectX 10 and Dual Link DVI support (through optional docking) give you faster rendering capabilities and support for ultra-high resolution monitors."

Does this mean that you would be able to run dual external displays through the docking station? Or does it simply mean that you will be able to run 1 external monitor alongside the laptop screen. I'm hoping that you can run 2 external monitors, as i've really been looking for an alternative to those matrox external video adapters, which don't support the resolution i need (dual @ 1600x1200 each).

It was mentioned in one "notebook cheatsheet" issued by HP for all 8xxx series; but that is only a official launch date. Actual date of availability will vary among countries and models.

I wouldn't say so; Dual-Link DVI is aimed usually for high-resolution displays (such as the 30" HP LCD display with resolution of 2560x1600 pixels). There might be some product that can divide the signal between two displays, but I haven't heard of it.
