    Hi All,

Does anyone have any information on the availabilty of HP 8510w for UK delivery??

HP have now removed several links to both the 8510w and 8710w ranges from their UK website and HP Business Sales are quoting a minimum of 3 weeks to the UK release date - although its been 3 weeks every time I've called since 3rd Sept.

Has anyone heard a firm date ??

    Regards

    Andrew

well what would you believe - citylink brought me a nice shiny 8510w today!

Direct from HP store - had a 10% discount voucher and they had the best price anyway - although its now gone up from the £1329 it was at the start of October.

I'm cancelling my order with HP Store. Today, the 23rd Nov, should have been my delivery date but this has now just been pushed back until 8th Jan 2008. This laptop will be out of date before they ship in quantity in the UK.

Omg, my order is delayed too. It's now pushed back to the 31st Dec. If it gets pushed back any further, I'll have to cancel mine too. Hopefully HP isn't running into the same Lenovo/Dell saga or else I think consumers can expect that these manufacturers and component suppliers are deliberately reducing supply to increase their margins.

I can't believe this, really! How can you release a product and forget about Europe...

It's not just Europe that's affected by the delays since the production is centralised.

HP has tested my nerves on this. They now decided to delay mine till 8th January too. If I don't hear more from the rep by the end of this week, I'm taking my business and a whole lot more to other vendors who can actually deliver notebooks.

No - mine shipped yesterday. Unfortunately I won't get my hands on it until Friday night as I'm away working.

I cancelled my order with HP on Monday after the delivery date slipped to Jan 14th. Today they repaid the balance to my credit card and I placed an order with Dabs. I have just recieved confirmation it has been shipped and should be with me before 5pm tomorrow.

Damn, I spoke too soon. My HP rep has now expedited shipping to the 10th December. Do you think this rush to get the notebook assembled might cause quality problems, like poorer fit and finish or even possibly older parts from refurbished units? This is because some parts were originally delayed, but mysteriously appeared after I enquired.

I had previously been waiting on a 8710w, but cancelled that and purchased a 8510w from Insight over the weekend.

It was delivered Tuesday and the build quality is excellent, so I don't think you have anything to worry about there.

Is everyone's 8510w shipping from Inventec Shanghai?
Afaik, Inventec is still the only assembler for HP's business notebooks.
