    Hello every one.

On regular bases I get a black screen during startup like the HP 8530w didn't finish it's BIOS check to boot into the OS, it will then just hang there until I shut it down and reboot. I believe that this issue is also preventing the comp from coming out of sleep mode as well because I get the same issue at random when the comp has entered sleep mode.

I've got the latest BIOS since Sept. but to no avail, I've tried disabling everything in the BIOS that I'm not using and that didn't change anything either.

    Thanks..
    Simon

Looks like in needs a new system board, though it could be GPU related too. It should still be under warranty, right?

Just double check you have the very latest BIOS becasue there was a fix for a similar issue not so long ago. It only affected a warm reboot/resume from standby, something to do with the PM45 chipset not being reset properly. I have had this issue myself, and a new BIOS fixed it for me on 3 separate 8530w laptops.

    Hi Stumo

    thanks for the reply..

I'm bummed that the latest BIOS didn't fix it for me. I better check with HP then.

    Thanks
