    they BOTH support 8GB of ram... HP gives the option to configure it only on the W since it is considered expensive :D.

    8X10p/w line does in fact support 8GB of ram... the only catch being that they have to be double the density... same number of chips.... NOT double the number of chips and same density per chip.

    In short... you'll have to wait for the price to drop and pay attention when you buy.

    What OS can use 8GB? Vista 64 only?
