Hello i am a new owner of a HP Elitebook 8770w and had a few questions as for upgrades and updating my system here is my specs
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Operating System

    CPU
    Intel Core i7 3720QM @ 2.60GHz 75 °C
    Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
    RAM
    8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
    Motherboard
    Hewlett-Packard 176C (U3E1)
    Graphics
    Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz)
    2047MB NVIDIA Quadro K3000M (HP) 44 °C
    Storage
931GB Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB (SATA (SSD))

    Optical Drives
    hp CDDVDW SN-208DB
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    My questions are the following
    • What memory do i buy to max it out to 32gbs at the best clock speed and from where because i dont want to purchase the wrong memory
    • i have a non dreamcolor display, does this mean i can go only up to a 980m in graphics before id have to do the dreamcolor conversion
    • can i install a webcam without a dreamcolor display
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks in advance for any info :)

If you really want to upgrade I suggest to consider to sell your hp 8770w and get and other zbook 17 g2 or g3 with at least i7-4800 qm or 4900qm.

I am trying to upgrade my 8770, fantastic 8770w , with gpu m3000m ... unfortunately I need to modify a file.. so my guess it should be replace the gpu with an other 4gb, but according to what I said , it's no so easy to install a new card because of software that seems a little incompatible altough create for it.

    1. The one in my signature works flawlessly on my 8770W.
    2. Yes, it means GTX 980M/Quadro M5000M max in your case
