HP 9099 LED's broken?

I have a HP 9099 laptop, like this:

The quickplay-buttons all have blue lights, but the volume control buttons don't light up in blue anymore.. Here's how it looks like:

As you can see, the buttons to the left are bluelighted, but the volume control buttons are just grey. They button's aren't broken, I can still adjust the volume with them, but the fact that they're suddenly not backlit anymore just annoys me like hell!

Is there any way to fix this?
I really hope it's software related, cause I'm sure I haven't been violent on the buttons.

i have the same problem, did a clean reinstall of vista and the problem did not go. So i flash the BIOS and the problem was resolved!

BUT, i dont know why randmonly in time the light goes off again and again no matter how many times a flash the bios. I've tried the F.16, F.25 and F.26 with same result.

 

ok i have a hardware problem. In my case if a pressed the left alt o windows key the light goes off!!!!! the if a flash the bios the lights come back.
