I currently have a T8100 2.1 Ghz core 2 Duo mobile processor in my HP 9700t laptop and want to upgrade it to a T9500 2.6 Ghz CPU. My laptop will take this CPU.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to physically replace the CPU. I've built desktop computers and the cpu install is not an issue. Never done it on a laptop.

    Thanks

Basically you'll have to take the whole thing apart to get to the CPU. Grab the service manual off HP's site and you'll be alright. If you take your time, the whole thing will take about 4 hours. Taking it apart is the harder part, putting it back together isn't an issue. :)

    Thanks,
I was afraid it was going to be a major undertaking. Well it will just have to be one of those winter jobs. Maybe the price will come down on the T9500 2.6 if I wait also.
