Hi, I downloaded Service pack 2 for XP. But my notebook always at 1.8Ghz, while I am not running any programs. Is it normal? I thought that when i use portable laptop scheme, amd 64 adjusts speed. Also, does Service pack 2 has antivirus software?

    thank you

I had the same trouble. PowerNow worked on AC power, but not on battery. I did a fresh install and installed the chipset drivers and PowerNow after SP2. It works perfectly now. Also, install any BT software you want before SP2. After SP2 Windows on wants to use the crappy MS drivers. There is only hardware virus protection for supported processors in SP2. You still need a software solution like Norton's.
