I just purchased a HP nx9420 and so far have been very happy with the notebook so far. I am debating on formating the drive and starting from scratch, but there isn't very much adware/garbage programs installed so I will probably keep it as is for now and just remove a few things. Anyway, I have a couple questions...

    1. How does the HP Backup and Recovery integrate with Windows XP System Restore ? It appears windows is monitoring both partitions ? Is this really needed ?

    2. Also, the notebook came with a 100GB hard drive, that is then partitioned for the recovery and my c drive is ~86GB, but ~15GB is used when I turned it on for the first time. What is using up all the space from the factory ?

XP System Restore only backs up your registry and a few precious files. HP Backup and Recovery is more like Norton Ghost...it images the entire drive and saves all your files.
