Hello,
My HP computer came with a BluRay reader, Some HP software that played BluRay discs, and Windows Vista x32.
I formatted over my computer a few months ago to install Windows 7 X64.
In the process, I lost the HP BluRay player software. I looked online, it seems to be about 50usd for a new set of software. Does HP provide this software for HP computer owners with a factory configured BluRay player? (Like Dell's SmartSource?).
Thank you very much!

You should probably contact HP support for that answer

Did you copy the SWSETUP directory before you reformatted you hard drive? Did you make recovery disks? If you did, you could recover your system using the recovery disks, then copy the swsetup directory. If you have a spare drive, you could do this without affecting your existing setup.
The other concern is that even though the blu-ray software worked under Vista doesn't mean it will work under Windows 7. -

Can't you just download mediasmart DVD again from HP's software site? That's what I did. Google your model number to get the customer support page for your machine, then click on software and drivers and enter your operating system. It would be under Multimedia.

Seriously though, at the time I tried, they had no solution to the blu-ray player with W7. They suggested I revert back to Vista if I wanted use blu-ray again.
