I'll move this thread to the HP/Compaq forum so the owners of the notebook(s) you speak of can have a better look. :) I agree, it is one very slick-looking mouse.

Ya it's a bummer it doesn't have those keys... i want a bluetooth mouse since my dv2500 is only going to have 2usb (one gone for HDMI.. still waitin on my lappy :() the bluetooth mice out there seem to be pretty limited in their features... and this one looks too damn good.. esp when combined with a dv2500.. so am willing to give up those 2 keys...

Thanks for moving it CHaz... I was thinkin about where to put it, couldn't decide.. so I just threw it in the accessories. :p

I saw it in the flesh at Fry's.
Too much chrome trim for my taste.
Ended up buying the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 which matches a bit better with my new 8710w.

I use the MS Wireless Laser Mouse 8000, which is Bluetooth. It works great with the built-in BT on the laptop. AFAIK, the 8000 is the only full size BT mouse, which was important to me... small travel mice make my hand ache.

in my opinion the Mx Nano is the best traveling/portable mouse. It's not bluetooth, so you lose one usb port. I have two other ones though. It has forward/back buttons, right, left scroll and a search button. It has a feature where you can make the scroll wheel roll freely or click. It's great. I never take the receiver out for the fact that it only sticks out about 1/4" or for those of you who don't know what that means..it only sticks out about the thickness of 2 quarters stacked.

I use the MS 8000 presenter mouse which has the forward/back buttons as well as doubling as a presenter remote.. buttons on bottom control powerpoint, media player etc.. even has a laser pointer.. all in a notebook size mouse. There are only two BT notebook mice that I have seen with the extra back/forward buttons.. Dell sells one with their notebooks.. and can only be ordered with a new system.. you can't buy them as a accessory. Its a nice mouse and I used it briefly before I had to return the crappy 1420 notebook. So for the rest of us, I think the MS presenter 8000 is the only one that has forward/back, tilting scroll wheel etc. Its expensive but I found one online for around 60 dollars.

I shortlisted the 8000 Presenter Bluetooth Notebook Mouse as well, since it is packed with lots of features. But after reading a bunch of very mixed user reviews on Amazon, I decided against it because it seemed too prone to failure.

I love my 5000 Bluetooth Notebook Mouse, simple and very responsive.
