Hi, since a month or so, [maybe more...] I been looking for a laptop, in the beginning I look at mainstream laptops, HP/Compaq, Acers, Gateways, Dells, etc... but later I realize that the sturdiness and built construction is what Im looking for. My budget is very very limited, only $750 US at a maximum, so I decide to give a look into the HP outlet, and I have four laptops in my eye, maybe you guys can help me here to find the best of the group.

    1. HP nc6200 XPP Pentium M 750 1.86GHz 60GB 2GB DVDRW 14XGA WLAN 64MB
    2. HP nc6230 XPP Pentium M 760 2.0GHz 60GB 1GB DDR 400 DVDRW 14XGA WLAN BT 64MB
    3. HP nc8230 XPP Pentium M 760 2.0GHz 80GB 1GB DVD-CDRW 15.4WXGA WLAN 128MB
    4. HP nx6325 XPP Turion X2 TL-50 1.6GHz 60GB 1GB DVD-CDRW 15XGA WLAN Bluetooth
    5. HP nx7400 XPP Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz 60GB 512MB DVD-CDRW 15.4WXGA WLAN (can be upgrade to 1GB of RAM).

Thanks in advance for all your comments.

It will be advisable to go for the Core 2 Duo machine.

Yeah Jetstar, is maybe the best choice among the others. the down spots are that doesnt have the DVD burner and is only 512MB but can be upgraded to the 1GB and for XP is good. The other laptops maybe are "better configurated" [2GB of RAM is a lot and the bluetooth is a cool feature, and 14.1" made of this laptops very portable] but the processors are just to weak.

How about the built quality of the nx7400, seems to be almost rock solid to me, what do you guys think?

Any chance to get a custom business notebook? I like the chipset/graphics chips but it doesn't seem like I can do it. They only have the old crappy setups in the consumer market.
