    What is the difference between the HP Pavilion notebook and the Business notebook? I see a little different screen size. Are the cases the same? Here is a description of the Business case;

    " Reliability: This notebook is designed to meet tough business standards including a magnesium reinforced frame and the HP Panel Protection System that helps prevent the display from scuffing and scratching. The HP Mobile Data Protection System helps protect the hard drive from shock and vibration and helps reduce the risk of data corruption."

    Is the Business notebook tougher than the Pavilion?

    Thanks

    Yep, they are definately built tougher than their Pavilion consumer counterparts, as are all business notebooks.

    ....they weigh about the same, seems like magnesium would weigh more than plastic

    While I had a nc6230, it felt MUCH stronger and more durable than any of the units you can find at retail stores like bestbuy or circuit city.

    Shouldn't you ask in the Dell forum? ;) j/k

    Business-class notebooks are universally tougher than general "entertainment" or "consumer" notebooks. You'll notice that Dell's Inspirons come with a standard 1 year warranty (except some are as low as 90 days on the budget end) while the Latitudes are standard with 3 years.
