I ordered an NC8230 preconfigured just this past Thursday. Just curious what HP's track record is with shipping estimates. Their estimate was exactly 2 weeks after I ordered which would put it at a June 3rd ship date. Are they generally early, late or right at their estimate?

    Sorry, I'm just excited and wishing I didn't have a 2 week wait :)

It generally depends on what hardware configuration you ordered it with. If it does not have any part which may lead to any delays then it will generally ship out earlier than the estimated ship date. It also depends on the new-ness of the model.

If they have every component is stock then it will probably ship out earlier.

I won't be able to report back on this. I cancelled my order from HP and placed an order for the same notebook from a reseller. Ended up saving $240 in all for the exact same stuff mostly because the reseller didn't charge CA sales tax.
