I succeeded installing Windows 10 on my HP Compaq 8510p
However, some devices were listed as "unknown" or a specific driver was missing.after the fresh installation of Windows 10

These are the Service Packs which eliminated these specific problems for me:

    SP45112
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45112.exe

    SP45920 - ADI AD1981HD audiodriver

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45501-46000/sp45920.exe

    SP53795 - HP 3D DriveGuard

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53795.exe

    SP44015 - Intel AMT Driver
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp44001-44500/sp44015.exe

This 8510p unit is still running wonderfull using Samsung 250 GB SSD 850PRO and 8 GB RAM.
I'm using it as a DAW and for general day-to-day usage (no games).

    Have fun!

    WARNING
To enable BLUETOOTH you have to do some preparations PRIOR starting with a clean install of Windows 10.
Assuming you're running Windows 7 - 64-bit, it is ESSENTIAL to check out the following settings:

    1. In BIOS check if both Bluetooth and Wireless LAN have been ENABLED
    2. In Device Manager check if both Wireless LAN and Bluetooth have been enabled
    3. Above the f4/f5 keys there's a touchbutton to enable Wireless devices. Press the Wireless touchbutton till it's lighting blue.
    4. Open HP Wireless Assistent and check if both Wireless LAN and Bluetooth have been enabled.
After having checked this, you can start installing Windows 10.

After having installed Windows 10 (64-bit), you should install next drivers/software:
    1. SP74543 - Broadcom Bluetooth Driver to enable Broadcom Bluetooth devices. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74543.exe
    2. SP45222 - HP Wireless Assistant. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45222.exe

Open HP Wireless Assistent, enable both Wireless LAN and Bluetooth and you're done.

    Good luck!
    Judith
