    Is disableable even a word?

Anyways, can you disable the touch sensitive controls above the keyboard on this laptop? I have to use the F1-F10 buttons very often in an online game I play, and sometimes accidentally slide a finger over the WiFi touch sensitive button which immediately disables my internet connection so I get disconnected from my game. Very annoying if you have been playing for a while and accidentally touch that thing without being able to get to a save zone.

As for the other buttons besides the WiFi one, if I accidentally touch those, my game gets minimized and I have to wait for the HP Info Center window to load up before I can get back into my game, which by that time my character is already dead.

I looked around sites found with google and couldn't find anything. Anyone have any suggestions? I never use the touch sensitive buttons besides the volume one (which is rarely used too and could do without if getting rid of the WiFi touch sensitive button means getting rid of all the touch sensitive buttons).

    Thanks.

yep, afaik you can use the configuration tool for the quicklaunch buttons to configure each button.
it should be possible to configure a button to do nothing.

I tried finding the configuration tool and I think I found it, but it doesn't give me any options to disable it or make them not do anything. It lets me choose what program I want to start up when I touch the other two buttons besides the WiFi one, but it doesn't let me do anything with the WiFi one which is the main one I need to disable.

Here's a picture of what I found. It was in the control panel labeled "HP Quick Launch Buttons"

    Am I doing it right?

Well, I uninstalled the HP Quick Launch from Add or remove programs and the WiFi touch button still responds and turns off WiFi when I touch it, so that didn't work, unless uninstalling the driver means something different?

Also, there isn't a QLBCTRL.exe in the process list, and I tried finding what process it is by touching it and watching the CPU usage of the processes and I didn't notice any of the processes being used each time I touched the WiFi button. I tried using a process watcher program called Kamzy Process Watcher to find what process was being used when I hit the button, but I couldn't figure that program out. Do you know of a different software to use?

I'm afraid there's no way to disable it too... unless maybe I have to go into the BIOS? But Ive never been there before on any computer.

Thanks for those suggestions. Any others?

You can unplug the physical switch if it really annoys you. Cant think of anything else...
