Hi every one. I have an issue with this laptop. it was working one day and then the next it was not. It will not power up. I tried plugging it up to direct current but it still would not come on. There is no power at all getting to the box. My question is, does this computer have a reset switch. I am trying to avoid tearing into it. But I will if I have to.

There's no reset button. You could try pulling the battery and holding the power button for 30+ seconds. Does the charging light come on when plug the AC in?

Sorry for taking so long, been very busy. no, no lights come on at all. I have taken out the battery and plugged it in directly to the current but still no lights. What I am wondering is if maybe it had a power surge and fried the power supply. It is the only thing I can think of. It was working one day and would not power up the next. It has me whodooed. But then again, it would need to be plugged in to be affected by a power surge. Duhhh! I am going to have to take it apart aren't I. Bummer.

It seems the two most likely candidates would be the power supply or motherboard. Anything loosey-goosey when you plug in the AC? Could try re-seating the memory and hard drive, and making sure the contacts are clean. Both are long shots, but don't cost nothing and I've seen stranger things happen. Did you try holding the power button for 30+ seconds?
