I own a nc6230 and have been asking some questions on another thread about Bluetooth and Remote controls.

When I spoke to HP their online service person told me the nc6230 could not support a remote control.

However, on my post on the "Hardware Components and Aftermarket Upgrades" it has been suggested to me to get a Bluetooth remote.

After reading Kevin's overview and seeing that the nc6230 does have a Bluetooth receiver (as he has posted in the Notebook News and Reviews topic and threads), can anyone PLEASE suggest to me a Bluetooth Remote Control that I could use to control the DVD player. For example, the one advertised on : http://www.pricebat.ca/Interlink-El...te-for-Bluetooth-enabled-Notebook.p_10043162/

    Thanks

Just make sure that your nc6230 actually has the bluetooth module. Not all nc6230s have a bluetooth transceiver. Check in the Device Manager just to make sure.

I was just about to ask that very same question. I cannot figure out if it actually has Bluetooth, and I am leaning towards not. But based on Kevin's overview in the REVIEWS section on this model, he shows that is does.

What specifically should I be looking for in the Device Manager section........ie: should there be a Bluetooth icon or something saying Bluetooth, or could it be versed in some other name ?

The Bluetooth chip is actually attached to one of the internal USB ports. On the bottom of your notebook, there should be a small slot to access the physical chip.

Here's what my Device Manager shows with stock drivers from HP.
