You'll probably need a bios update, but in my personal opinion it's probably not worth it. The CPU is often not the performance bottleneck.

Ok ZaZ I understand that as per the CPU's performance, but how would I update the bios to get this done if I go in that direction. I have 2 gigs of RAM in the 6320 what else could I do to get more performance.... Here's what I have T2400 1.83Ghz cpu, 60gb harddrive and as I mentioned earlier 2 gigs of RAM with 1 gig in each slot.... I don't know could uping the harddrive give me a little more performance???

update the bios first to the latest release....

then you can upgrade the cpu without any worries.

as for hdd.... get a 7200... you'll notice the performance increase...

BIOS updates are a free download from HP's website....

What are you using the notebook for?? Is there any particular application which is slow? The Core 2 Duo's will be faster than your current T2400 but you wont notice the difference in everyday use.

Miner what I'm looking to gain as per the upgrading is just having a notebook that can handle what I through at IE: video editing, gaming, etc.

Video editing should see an improvement with the upgrade but with gaming the graphics card would be the limiting factor. Go with the T7200 or above with the 4MB cache which should help with video editing.

Do remember that the T7100, T7300, T7500 or T7700 wont be compatible with your system since they use a different socket.
