A friend is trying to upgrade his HP NX9005 from the standard 256M to 1G. He order 2 x 512MB DDR SODIMM PC2700 333MHz 200pin Memory Modules.
The ones he ordered are http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/82242
But his laptop just wont boot with them installed. The blue power light comes on then straight off then on again. It does the same if no memory is installed.
He has tried each module one at a time and in both slots with the same results.
Thinking it might be duff modules I've tried them in a IBM thinkpad and they work fine.
Is the NX9005 fussy as to the type/manufacture of the memory it works with?
Does anyone have anyothers ideas as to why they don't work.
Thanks
Rob

Hi,
How did you resolved the memory upgrade problem concerning HP Compaq nx 9005. I encountered the same problem as you. Do you have any suggestions.
Thank you in advance.
