    Hi guys,

I have a nx9110 and really love it cause of its brand powerful features.
But, the problem I have is: Sometimes, my laptop crashes without any pre-guessable reason. As my observation, it doesn't depend on if it is working on battery or AC power, if it is working in dusty or clean environment, if it is working on the desk or on the bed :p
I mean, all the time, I am really trying to find the reason of failure, but can not.
When it crashes, there are no keyboard and mouse events and no response. Sometimes display goes to black, sometimes it remains on, but frozen. The power button still with light, means it is on. The reason I think it as hardware failure is the crash also can happen during POST (before load of OS). If it happen once, next few try will also fail.
Bless of god, yet, I didn't lose any data from HDD, so I hope the problem is not with HDD. The problem can be with CPU or memory.
I also should tell I am using the anti-static strap for last 2 months, cause I thought it can be caused by static in environment. But got no result.

Please, guys, does anyone have same problem? Does anyone know any recommendation to solve (to detect the reason, at least) the problem?
I am using my laptop for 9 months, but experiencing this problem for last 6 months.
Any suggestion or comment will be really appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    AMARBAT Pashka

A fresh install of Windows will tell you if it is hardware or software. Might want to update you virus and spyware utilities, and run them. Use msconfig to turn off any unwanted programs that turn on with Windows. Make sure you back up your data as soon as possible.

    Hi,

Thanks for reply and warning about cross record. I just wanted to increase the chance.
Initially, I though something wrong with software and I once formatted it and installed fresh copy of OS. The problem is not solved.
Cause of problem, I very rarely use my laptop and most of my files are on my pc. but, I really want to use my laptop.

Please, can you give any other suggestion?

Did you try pulling the memory sticks and re-seating them in thier slots? If you have more than one, you can try running with one for a bit, and if all is well, try the other one solo as well.

Please, can you tell me where can I find the memory stick slot? Is it on the bottom side and looked like RAM? If yes, I tried your solution few times. Even, once, I ran my laptop without it.

That's impossible to run your laptop without RAM - you must have removed the Wireless card or only one of the memory modules (if you have two). Check HP's online documentation - they will tell you where the memory is and how to correctly remove it.

Thanks guys for advice. I extracted my notebook and found the RAM plugged out and in. Seems, it is fixed cause it is working for last 20 hours without crashing. The card I was talking about above was one of 2 RAMs. There is another one inside (just below of keyboard) which was probably causing the fail.

    Thanks all.
