I've had my compaq nx9110 for just under 2 years now and I've been having an ongoing problem for months and months with it overheating and instantly shutting down on me.

I have only recently opened it up and cleaned the dust, but also to my surprise, I turned it on to check if both the fans were working, and of the 2, one of them starts spinning briefly when the notebook is booting but then would stop, so while the notebook is on only one fan is working.

is that suppose to happen? or should both fans normally be on?
