After making recovery disks and backing up the swsetup folder, I formatted the hard disk and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit given by my office.

I installed all drivers & softwares from the Swsetup folder. Everything looked like before, except that I cannot find HP Coolsense anywhere.

I downloaded and installed HP Support assistant, standalone coolsense etc. but still no sign of coolsense on my laptop.

I don't want to use the recovery disk to revert to Windows 7 Home premium and do everything all over again.

Can anyone tell me where or how I can get my Coolsense back?

Earhog, thanks for the link, but I tried it already. It goes through the setup and finishes but I can't find coolsense anywhere later, even after restarting the laptop.

It's under HP Support Assistant. If you can't find that, download it from the HP site here.

    Confirmed to be working:
I installed Coolsense from the link, but couldn't find it.
Then installed HP Support Assistant, and subsequently Coolsense appeared in the Start Menu, under HP.

    Thanks!

Or you could have just went with a minimal system install and have had everything, you mentioned you installed (drivers, select HP apps), right in front of you, ready to go, from the very beginning. Even if your factory OS is, for example, Home Premium - you could have done the minimal install then used your office's Windows 7 Ult key to unlock those features via Windows anytime upgrade.

Less hassle, IMO. But if you got it to work then it's all good. ;)
