Hey gang, I'm looking to possibly order a DV6TSE (although I'm not a fan of the pinkness), but the HP coupons never work for me, I always get the red message that the coupon doesn't apply to my items. I've tried doing it both with and without academic discounts to no avail. Any tips you guys have? Also any thoughts on the pink color? I really hate it and can't understand HP's gaudy looking laptops.

    Thanks gang

Certain coupons only apply to specific items, and just about every HP coupon worth using has a usage limit (i.e. 1500 redeems). My guess is that the coupons you have been trying to use do not work with Select Edition models

That's probably not the case. I have the exact same problem. This coupon won't work, and it's brand new. I guess this just HP's way of screwing people over. :)

Works fine for me. The base configuration price (before discount, but not including warranty, which is a separate cart item) of the computer has to be over $1350- did you check that?

There used to be a $100 off coupon there... Well, I guess that explains it.

yeah the $100 coupon is no longer valid. Coupons never stack with the Academic discount which is just over 6% on this laptop. If you have a configured system in your cart, remove it and remake it and apply the coupon code to make it work. If you edit a feature of your config and go back to your cart the coupon will have been removed and if you try to reapply the code it will say it doesnt work. (I had to explain this to the phone rep when I ordered as they had to go back and change something and then couldnt get the code to work, I had to tell them like 5 times to just empty everything and start over. Also if you are logged into an Academic discount account, you will not be able to get the coupon to work.

Feel free to look at the guide in my signature for updated coupon information. also all info on the dv6tse

Just a suggestion -- but it worked for me. When purchasing my laptop on-line last year, I too found that some coupons weren't working, so instead, I just made the purchase on the phone. Prices were exactly the same and all applicable coupons were applied.

That coupon is active till October, however if you are buying a machine over $850, the academic discount will be a greater savings for you.
