    Which seems to be an older model....

    Also, in the new one, how does the GPU stach up against a AMD® Radeon HD 6990M?

    not as good since there's no 7xxx equivalent to the 6990m yet. Also the refresh may not be available in canada at the moment.

    Hello Guys,

    I just ordered the new Envy 15.
    Base Config+i7-2670QM+6GB 1600MHZ RAM+500GB 7200RPM Drive+Windows 7 Professional+ 1080P Display.


    Costed me=$1280 (got $505 discount 30%).

    Do you think it is a good deal?
    I'll keep an eye out this week to see if something better comes out.Would HP price match (In case I find a better deal) if I talk to their sales rep?

    I ordered mine over the phone from HP Canada. Right now only the 17" is available in Canada. You do have to be lucky to find it on their website. It's atrociously organized. Scroll along the top for the Envy-17-3095:

    I ordered December 7th and they said it would be shipped in 3 weeks or sooner. Still waiting for a ship date. I'm thinking I'll get it after Xmas now. Can't wait!

    All the pictures and specs for that one there do not point to the new one.... You may want to check that you indeed ordered the new one. Their site is a nightmare, multiple pages for the same thing, different numbers to call and NO actual information.

    I called about:
    HP Envy17 | HP Envy | HP Canada

    They said they have the SKU in their system but no info on when it will be on sale, he also told me that they don't do the same sales as the US, regarding the 30% or $500 off.

    This thing is pretty, but for $1,700 ill go for a Sager. Hopefully they release the new one, offer a great deal and I get a fancy new laptop :)

    Yes, there are no deals like in the US. But how strange that they won't let you order. When I called, it was definitely about the new one and they said they were taking preorders so I did it over the phone. Mind you, I still have no shipping date on my order status, but they at least went through the motions to try to sell it to me.

    I considered the Sager as well, but HP's ergonomics won me over. I'm happy with my current (old) HP also, so I figured it would be worth the wait. HOpefully this won't be in vain.

    No problem :) The photos in that PDF are the older model I believe, also, the GPU is a 6000 series, where the new models seem to be a 7690m. I definitely have no faith in them having the correct information, and the 3095-ca series product number points to a new one.

    Have you looked into getting a refurbished model off ebay? It may sound risky at first thought but that's what I did 2 years ago and couldn't be happier. Got an AMAZING deal, the price of what I paid back then is still 200 less than the cost of the same spec envy 15 to this day :]
