I called HP to try and get a quote on the envy 15, unsurprisingly I get a foreign sales rep. I tell them I'm trying to get a quote to compare prices between this and the m15x which is almost the same price. Dell customer support had no trouble understanding this and talked with me. The HP rep was literally just telling me things I could find on the website I've called HP 3 times and I get a bad rep each one. Anybody else have this problem or am I just expecting the reps to work with me like the one's at dell(who were also American)

I had this problem with Dell, actually. I called three times and got incomprehensible information or else wrong information ('The 4670 is just as good as the 5830 GPU').

There are good CSRs out there, but it's a crap shoot unless you get hold of the business sales people (which means not an Envy or an Alienware).

HA, and here I was thinking it was just Dell having better customer service. Guess I was just lucky by getting an american sales rep.

Strange. I called HP on a Saturday night and got an American sales rep.

I've had both American and foreign for both companies. The majority of my HP CSRs were from India, though they were also all extremely helpful and easy to understand, though that's maybe three people total that I've spoken to.

The one time I called the HP tech support (as opposed to customer service) I got an American guy who was also very helpful.

If they can't help you with a sales call, god help you if you need technical support, HP has the worst tech support in the world, their accents are so bad you can't understand them, unless you escalate a call to get passed the 1st person to answer the call you have no chance.
