the only issue i have with mine is the mouse from sleep
I have found that i actually have to shut down and remove the battery before the mouse will work again.

Does anyone notice that their dm3 has trouble entering sleep after idling for a while?
Also, after idling, the screen shuts of, when you move the mouse it lights back up and the computer temporarily freezes (sometimes completely requiring restart)?
I am not talking about the cursor going crazy, that stopped after i disabled the mutli-touch. I am talking about what appear to be sleep related issues, or at least issues with letting the computer idle for a while so that the screen shuts off and presumably the HDD as well. Anyone else?
NOTE: this is when the computer is putting itself into sleep mode (or trying too) not when I push the sleep button, then it's fine. -

Just took a look at DM3 Maintenance pdf you can download at HP...there is no speaker on the right side it's just a bit right of center. You can make adjustments in the IDT audio software to control how the sound shares right and left signal and the percieved spacing of sound.
HP also has a download under the software selection that is supposed to clean up some issues and is called Microsoft essential updates.
I downloaded all they had installed new and don't have any problems with my DM3 1047cl
Put just a dab of auto wax on your mouse pad and it will feel a bunch better. It's just to smooth and sticky otherwise for me. -
I was a happy DM3-1030US customer for about a month until this morning when an incredibly strange and frustrating problem has rendered the laptop useless.
Last night when I finished using the PC I left it disconnected from the charger so it naturally ran out of juice and turned itself off.
This morning I plugged it back in and slid the power switch, the fans turned on power light lit up (but not caps lock and Wi-Fi light is orange) but the screen is completely black. The fans remain spinning, computer is clearly receiving power and turned on but nothing happens at all. I've tried leaving it in that state for 30+ minutes to no avail. I tried removing the battery for 20+ minutes then trying again to no avail. Most frightening of all I completely removed the power and turned on the PC via direct AC power with exactly the same result. This leads me to believe something has completely failed at a hardware level in this machine. Has anyone else experienced anything at all like this?
I'm very dissapointed that such an issue is occuring with a brand new machine like this. I've always thought the price I paid (around $500 from staples with multiple rebates) was too good to be true and now that appears to be the case. Unless HP is extremely graceful in their resolution of this matter I don't see myself purchasing another product from them again, which is a shame since I've purchased multiple laptops as well as my 30" monitor from them in the past. I was even considering purchasing the new Envy 14 when it's released.
Anyway, if anyone can help or at least chime in if they've had the same issue, it would be greatly appreciated. -
