    Hi all

I need a cheap ultraportable (half price of an m11x) that can run GTA SA etc, even if on lower settings.

My options are limited to the msi u230 ($150 cheaper) or this dm3 (su7300 i think).

I was wondering how this notebook performs in 3dmark06.

I have the tx-2 which has the 3200 hd video card like the one on the dm3, Its a great card for a small notebook. It is a bit more powerful than the nvidia 8400m, and yes you can easily run gta san andreas on it probably on medium settings. I will install it on mine and try,but I recommend the hp

As far as playing GTA San Andreas, my old dv6000 with a Go 7200 managed it pretty well on low-medium settings. The HD3200 in both units you mentioned average about 200pts higher in 3DMark06 than my 7200, so you should be good at the same low-medium settings (if not better).

Even the netbook cpu (L335) achieves a Passmark score a few points within my old notebook's cpu (TL58), so I don't see a problem there either.

the dm3 im looking at had a g105m which is like a 9300m/9400m/9500m.

    the u230 had the hd3200.

the dm3 will outperform the hd3200. but im not sure how good it is. i think about 2200 3dmarko6. but im just guessing.

Yup, notebookcheck.net lists the g105m at 2264pts (making it a far sight better than the 984pts of the 3200).
