HP DM4 - 1041TX (Indian Spec)

I am considering buying the following spec laptop soon.

Anyone in India or abroad give some feedback on any components that are good/bad/ugly?

(There is an issue where it might be 512mb. Issue being investigated by HP dealer)

I have highlighted the important specs.

I plan to keep the laptop for 3-5 years. Would build quality last that long?
(I am coming from an IBM T43p that is 5 years old.)

I may have the option to wait a few months. I am wondering if CES in January will bring a whole new version? If something new gets released, how long might it take to filter to India?

I am not considering buying from anywhere else except India.

 

build quality of DM4 is ok.
CES ll surely have new models that might be in the price range you are considering now.
it usually takes about 2 months on average for a laptop to land in india after its launch in US.but depends on the manufacturing brand for ex dell and apple launch with a month while asus takes over 4months and hp does in about 3 months.
above timing is based upon my knowledge since i have been looking for new laptop since an year.

now about the DV4.i would like you to look into HP-DV6-3049TX model if your dont mind an extra 1.5inch bigger screen coz its got better specs than this DV4 for same price(almost).

and remaining are same as DV4
price is Rs 50,000.
but 1k is really worth just for the graphic card.its twice as faster as 5450
