Something's happened to my screen where there is a problem with the lights at the bottom. They don't seem to be turned on? I don't have a camera but I'll try to describe it:

On the bottom of the screen there are black or 'dim' patches every 2 inches or so where some lights aren't turned on, they are in an obvious order across the bottom of the screen. The max brightness of the screen is lower than it used to be because of it aswell. The dim patches are noticable now that I know they're there, but are highly noticable if it's an all-white background as the dark really contrasts witht he white.

I was messing with the screen earlier kind of bending it this way or that and for a minute it was working properly again, the dim spots disappeared and the whole screen got brighter.

Is their anything I can do to fix this myself? I can't send it away as I'm abroad now
