    Hey all,
    I have this dv1000 from a friend and when I load the Win XP cd into the drive, and while it finishes reading the cd, and you follow through the menu, it says the harddrive is not available/not installed on the computer. Is there a way to go around this? Thanks in advance.

    You need to intergrate the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers. :) An easy way to do it is by using nLite.
