    HP DV1100 Battery Warning Not On Top

    This is a somewhat weird but annoying and inconvenient problem.

    My notebook seems to issue low battery and critical battery warnings, but they do not appear as the top window; and, since I generally operate with the sound muted, I do not get the warning.

    My power options are set so that it hibernates at critical, which is set at 5%. Sure enough, when I restore AC power and hit the power button to come out of hibernation, there's the power warning!

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
