HP has recently been shipping DV2000s with faster PC5300 RAM for the 1gb (2X512) option. Has anyone gone for the 2gb (2X1gb) option shipped from HP recently? What type of RAM did you receive? Thanks.

I have Patriot 5300 in my notebook, but I upgraded it myself from 1GB 4200. Are you asking for our opinions on the difference in performance?

Sorry for lack of clarity. I'm asking about the type of RAM that HP itself ships out now if one selects the 2gb option.

My dv2000t shipped with 2GB of Infineon PC2-5300 RAM from HP. I chose the T7200 processor, so it may be that you need to chose a Core2Duo processor to get the faster memory. Hope that helps.

Recent orders appear to ship out with 667 MHz RAM if the processor selected has a 667Mhz bus.
