    Has this question been addressed?

Is this thread a good guideline in regards to Windows XP MCE ?

I hope so. XP MCE is basically the same as XP Pro, correct?

I'm not too sure...but give it a shot & let us know. You can always get back the system to factory state using the restore DVD's if it doesnt work out.

sorry to dig up a really old thread, but i wanted to know how to go about installing XP on a new hdd. obviously, the new hdd will not have the quickplay partition and since it doesn't appear to be available from HP, i was wondering if that was the source of the random BSoD's i've been experiencing on my new hdd lately. if so, how do i go about fixing this? if i can't install quickplay, is there a way to disable it so it doesn't generate errors?

    i am using XP SP3 on a dv6000z with a Turion X2 TL-52, 2 Gb RAM, and a GeForce 7200.

    thanks!
