So I've had my HP DV2620ca for about two years now and I could say its still going steady. I'm getting fed up with it but I'm not really prepared to purchase a new notebook just yet.
So my question is should I increase like the memory or if its even possible overclock it or save that time and money for a new notebook?

I've undervolted the notebook so it doesn't too hot like before.

    Thanks!

That's a decent notebook, unless you're gaming. Upgrading to 4GB RAM would be easy enough. Upgrading to 64-bit Windows 7 might be nice, especially if you still have a .edu email account for the $30 student deal. You'll need 64-bit to make full use of 4GB RAM. I wouldn't overclock, HP's cooling systems are weak enough at stock settings.

Firefox 3.6RC will make you feel like you have a speedy new notebook, if you're used to 3.5.x and keep lots of tabs open.

Well I would like a notebook that would be able to handle games well and I know this one doesn't.
I just don't want to spend money on RAM and time on upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit if I there are better notebooks out there within my price range which is under $1000.

I installed Firefox 3.6RC but it readjusted my userChrome.css =(

There are WAY better notebooks for gaming for under $1000. I want one of these:
    dv7-3079wm with 1GB Radeon 4650 GPU, $900.

I have a real big problem with HP laptops and I told myself I would never consider purchasing another HP laptop.
