    Hi

My dad has a HP DV2620ea laptop computer which doesn't seem to work with the original power brick (charging light does not come on, and no power gets to the computer), however he has managed to get a power supply from his work ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=48517), which will power the laptop, but will not charge the battery.

I remember my work had a Dell laptop which would do a similar thing, it powered up with a different model Dell power brick, but would not charge.

Is there a way I can bypass this? Or does he need to buy an official HP power brick?

If so, where can I buy one in the UK?

    Regards

    Stewart
