Referring to the old post linked below, I bought one of these laptops about a month ago, and i had finally had enough of the failing combination between vista, some games i play (final fantasy XI) and the graphics card.

I followed the guide through, using nlite to slipstream the SATA drivers onto the XP disk. After reaching the end, I've ran most of the windows updates, and sound is working, graphics drivers are working, keyboard/mouse and wireless are all working. The one thing i havn't been able to get working are the USB drives.. I'm getting no response on any of them.

Under device manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers, i have 7 items showing, 5 USB universal host controllers and 2 USB2 host controllers, however beneath these i have 7 USB root hub entries with the standard error for no drivers. I have no idea where to look to get this fixed.

Obviously i doubt the original posters are around, but can anyone else help please? i'm desperate!
