Hi folks, i did a search for this before i posted & cant see anything to help me.

I have an HP DV2799ea running Windows 7. I have the small IR remote that slots in the side but it doesnt work the media centre. Im looking to find out if anyone has a link to drivers to get this working?

Also my windows media center will not play any videos. There is an error comes up which reads VIDEO ERROR, FILES NEEDED TO DISPLAY VIDEO ARE NOT INSTALLED OR ARE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, RESTART WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER OR RESTART THE COMPUTER.

Im not a big computer whizz but i can find my way around.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Ross

Try using windows media player classic or VLC (The best video players IMO)

I have the media player fixed (i updated my Nvidia)

I still have the problem of finding the drivers for my infrared remote. Any help with this would be great.

Also i cannot get sound to work through my HDMI cable to my tv. I have gone into the sound settings on the tv & laptop but i cannot find anythig to identify my HDMI sound option
