    HP DV3 overheating and shutting down

    Purchased about 1 year and a half ago from Costco..and recently, even when I have basic apps open like msn, internet, office, it will suddenly get really hot and shut down by itself...

    Is this a known problem with this computer?

    Will HP do anything for me with this?

    This is a common problem with HP and many other laptop manufactures, having a either bad design or using aluminum heat-sinks for their fans...
    Best thing to do would be undervolt and get a cooling pad.
